Mobile phone signal booster

It is maybe not suitable for extended use, but as an economic emergency backup as well as for lower use needs, RWG Mobile (which was mentioned on the forum some time back) I think is very good.
I have two SIMS in my phone to give me two numbers, one for work and one for personal. One SIM is on SKY and which I use for all my mobile data needs as well as giving unlimited calls and texts and the other SIM is from RGW and gives 100 minutes of calls, 100 texts and 250MB of data (enough to check emails).

The SKY SIM, which runs on the O2 Network I pay £5 a month for.
The RWG Mobile SIM runs on the EE Network and that incurred a £5 payment to get the SIM, which goes onto your balance for out of contract use, the 100+100+250MB deal renews each month at no cost. Had that RWG SIM for coming up for a year now I think, not paid anything other than the initial £5 and my account balance is £5.
RWG increased the deposit required for the Free plan from £5 to £15. I was looking to get one, but in the last week or two it has disappeared from their website.

I must be the odd one out but I do like being the odd one out :)
I am with 3 and find their service pretty good. I could probably get a slight improvement moving to EE but not willing to pay their prices.
I use a Tektonik router with a Poynting puck2 (I think) roof antenna and it’s rare I get no signal. I still have the little Huawei 5577 dongle I can swap sim to if I need to try something else. Router is always a stronger signal that my phone although the exception would be some 5G areas in Scotland as my router is 4G.

Regarding second sim on same number. Are you meaning a physical SIM and and Esim?
I have a Smarty SIM (so 3 network) in a Teltonika RUT955 and a Poynting Puck-V1 and have found it very good. I also use Smarty for my phone. I have seldom had an issue with network availability in the southern half of Scotland and no issues whatsoever in England. When I have had no connection in Scotland, the same has been true for my partner, who is with EE.

there is a £15 one, but that provides 750MB of data instead of 250MB. When I got my £5 one, I didn't know about the £15 one otherwise I would have gone for that instead.

Both these plans are still listed on the website but shown as unavailable (maybe they can't cover the costs? I don't understand how they can provide these):

Yes I had read you could get a second sim for about a tenner on .e.e which could run off my current contract. I was with 3 for years and I found the service over the last 18 months to be unreliable. I believe it's because there are so many other companies using its network. My mate was getting a way better service on his smarty SIM but eventually he got rid of his.
I'm glad your good with yours but I waited for the right deal to come along and then jumped ship. For me it's been miles better.

I was at the Busfest festival in Sept '21. I had a THREE SIM in my router and the signal was good but the service was unusable - and I think it was because so many people were on the same network. Took out the THREE SIM and put in my phone O2 SIM and it was much better despite having a lower signal strength.

Ah, listed in the shop but not available. Not shown on the Rates & Plans page, so presumably not available to new customers.
