The ignition lights come on then start flickering and there is a rapid ticking sound.When you try to start it do the ignition lights go off or stay on?

Ral, when did you last MH? As for battery age, I had a cranking battery in current MH, three year warranty, just after the 3 year, battery was fubared. Cold weather really drags them down.
