MH problem.

Tried starting the mh yesterday, result was zilch, dead as a dodo.
Charged battery overnight, still nothing, battery is about 3 years old. Should be OK?
My limited mechanical knowledge suspects starter motor? Anything else I should be looking at?

When you try to start it do the ignition lights go off or stay on?

It might actually help in this case if you give the starter motor a whack!

The ignition lights come on then start flickering and there is a rapid ticking sound.

Check battery connections are good.
If you've got jump leads, could be worth a try.

Could be the earth strap, put a jump lead from the negative terminal of the battery to a metal part of the engine

Battery is flat or earth lead requires cleaning, did you put a volt meter on to test, ciggy plug tester will do, you should have 12.6/7v, below 12.2v its a no go.

Connections are good Tim. I doubt we can get the car close enough the way we are parked. Will have a go through.

Ral, when did you last MH? As for battery age, I had a cranking battery in current MH, three year warranty, just after the 3 year, battery was fubared. Cold weather really drags them down.
