Could anyone tell me the bolt size I need to order a 16 mm spanner will fit:nicethread:, are they m16 or m10.

Cheers,

John.

Depends on which standard bolt/nut you are using

DIN standard (most common) M10 is 17mm across flats

and

ISO standard is 16mm across flats

7mm ,9mm 16mm and 18mm are called spurious sizes . if you look at a conventional spanner set these can be missing .
also 7mm and 9mm allen keys are not usually in the sets .
some japs use odd size spanners . seat belt fixings can use odd size spanners /sockets as well.

Auup john, you must have spent to long gas fitting !! And forgotten how the coal board trained you to use an hammer and chisel !! Or baco adjustable lol

some bolts on my car use 18 spanner but are the same as 17 spanner bolts on older model, the size of the spanner has nout to do with the thread size ,and there is also metric course and fine.

I'm sure one can assume that the translation for sod thee sen off is not appropriate for under 18's (or over 60's :D ) >>>>>>>>>>>> waits for a backlash from the old crew who can still swear like troopers :D
