Got back from the pub and our present from the kids was laid out on the table. It's a hamper almost the size of Bedfordshire but mainly with a Scottish theme. Stuff like Shortbread, Honey, Marmalade and hundreds of other things.

I found out to my disgust Paul that they are open until 3. But having arranged a lift for 1.15 and with dinner at 2 I thought I'd better comply.

Looks like today is ‘your’ day Rob, so enjoy a session with the friends you ‘choose’ for company.
Spare a thought for others stuck with relatives they have avoided all year but now have to ‘talk’ to & hug at the end of their visit as if you have all now bonded in a special way that implies ‘blood is thicker than water‘ etc.
(& don’t forget to take a key for the back door in case your good lady seeks to restrict your stumbling access to the front door.)
