This ad just appeared about 3 hours ago on Gumtree.

It sounds way too good to be true, so probably is. Am I missing something obvious?

However, if it's genuine I could be tempted to get Neil to drive us up pronto (after checking it's for real first!) and just buy it!!
At that price I don't care if it isn't ideal layout, and it looks pretty comfy all round :)

Wonder if there's something seriously wrong the seller is not letting on about?? It's an automatic, I know nothing about automatics..

Any thoughts/comments about this folks...?

Either a scam (I'm working offshore but will deliver it to your address, just pay a small deposit....) or a typo (meant to list it for £15,600?)

I'd be inclined to make an enquiry just to find out how they respond but on no account should you part with any money...

The link has come up for me but it's way too cheap... at a guess by at least 1£10,000. As Shaun said, maybe a mistake.

Yes, the link is working OK. Think you and Shaun are right Sue, if it's genuine think the seller made a typo with the price! :)

Waiting on response.

According to location it’s a very near cue area ,off dundas street in Edinburgh ,

turned off Malawarebytes and link worked :)

Apart from the price being low, no other hallmarks of a scam and not in a remote location.
It could well be genuine and just priced low (when I bought my T5 Shuttle, it was around 60% of the book price and was perfectly ok - and why I jumped on a Train from Scotland to London the day after the Advert came out to secure it ;) )

I'd of thought £15k is the going price so why would someone offer it for 1/3 of it's value.[emoji10], If they were in a hurry to get rid they'd probably ask £10k min.

Marie the link isn’t working for me either and I know Gumtree takes the links down if they’ve been reported as a scam

Cannot get on to this offer.
I did yesterday but not now.
Possibly it has been removed by Gumtree, after reports.
I remember years ago a woman selling her husbands jaguar for £20 because he was having an affair.

I have to agree with other posters Marie.
If it’s to good to be true, it probably is.
Buyer beware.
Why would anyone sell a car or a Motorhome for one third of its normal value, it makes no sense.

I hope that your hopes were not built up to much on this one.

Thanks everybody for taking the time to reply.

I'm not disappointed Fisherman, like everyone else - when you think it's too good to be true it usually is!
Just thought there might be an off chance, bargains do happen - and I'm eternally optimistic! ;) :D
The rest of the ad looked so genuine too! The guy had been posting on Gumtree for 6+ years etc. etc.

Yes, looks like ad has been removed, so either genuine and sold straight away, or a typical scam.

Has anybody ever noticed how many scam van ads appear on eBay with too-good-to-be-true prices? They're never listed for more than a few hours. Wonder if eBay have an army of workers sifting through checking everything, or if they have some sort of sophisticated botware these days?

Don't worry Trixie, I won't be paying any deposits at a distance any day soon!

The van I eventually buy I would prefer to be looking at the whites of the seller's eyes face-to-face, whilst squeezing their nuts and tyres at the same time...!

:lol-061::yeahthat: :D

Sounds rather painful, I would rather just shake hands :D

I am sure you will get your van eventually Marie, there are plenty up for sale.
Good luck.

I hope Marie washes her hands, first. ;)

There are many genuine MH sales to be had on Gumtree, which is the site I used when selling previous MH, something will come up and, if in my neck of the woods, happy to be your eyes, first.

Just had a message from Marie el tel ,I’ve to pass on her thanks for your kind offer to visit location if required ,but obviously we are not needed now due to error 404

The sellers that are often the ones to be wary of, especially on eBay are actually the ones with good feedback but have not sold or bought anything for ages - those accounts have usually been hacked and a scammer is using what was a genuine account.
Also check out the other items they have for sale. It is amazing how one person is suddenly selling 3 motorhomes, a JCB, a couple of BMWs and a motorbike, all at amazing prices.
