Meet insurance.

Some of you may remember a post of mine back in the dark days of winter, when I suggested a meet at the school where I work. As the manager of this school I have been collating all we would need to be able to do this. It appears along with most places, we would need a minimum requirement of £5m insurance. Sounds horrendous but is not so expensive. I am seeking Quotations for us to hold this insurance. As such I need to Know if any one would accept having to contribute to such an insurance, and if Admin would not have any objections in holding this insurance in our names ( paid for by us) or whether we should maybe hold it under another name. Let me know your Ideas as I think this would open another dimension to our fellowship.

Whatever you arrange,Rick, we'll be up for it and we'll be happy to contribute towards the insurance premium, of course:rolleyes:

Does this mean we all get to wear our school uniforms again:eek::D

Awaiting more details:cool:

Im up for it, as long as it's not too expensive
you see, Im one of these
"poor people" you read about in the newspapers :D :D

Please keep us posted as to how you get on. Meets involving motor vehicles are a B. nightmare - trust me.
You can help your insurance application by saying that you will be following the rules and / or suggestions laid down by the Caravan Club and / or the Camping & CC.
I would have thought, from past experience, that your chances of being able to satisy all the requirements for your Local Authority would be pretty slim - Good Luck though

Sorry, not exactly our cup of tea to sit around in a school play ground or playing field:eek:
We prefer nicer locations, however we wish you all the best:cool:

It aint the money as you know:D

You are pre-judging the location of the school without seeing it. Is it any different to sitting around in a public car park?. I think not, apart from the constant coming and going of cars all day and all night and not knowing there intentions. I know where I would rather meet, at least it is secure. I can even lock the gates........However this insurance could be used anywhere, apart from a public car park, where you are in fear of being moved on, afraid to leave the vehicle unattended. and generally vulnerable.

Hi, Rick,I've got a great story I'd like to tell you all about the boll**ks I dropped today, (cost me £180):mad:, but I can't divulge over the net as it may have implications:rolleyes:;), however I'll tell you all in the School Yard:eek::D

Insurance

Hi

Assuming that the insurance is reasonable, I am willing to contribute! We could go the next stage and apply for a DEFRA exemption cert!!!!!

As for schools, I rally twice a year at schools. Yes, we pay but as a result the schools receive extra income that they would not have otherwise received. Each school has its own arrangements and fees. Schools in the past have allowed access to a room/hall for social gatherings, electrics, fresh water/empting points and even the showers!!!!

Schools can be near places of interest or locations that you wouldn't otherwise be able to stay at. They also offer a place of reasonable security. A couple that I currently frequent are Burford School in the Cotswolds, which is literally at the end of the High Street and the other being at Woodstock, within walking distance of Blenheim Palace. We have in the past used two schools within 5 mins walk of Warwick Castle.

Exactly, BOLLINGTON is one of Cheshires beauty spots, we have a co-op just up the road, 2 excellent Indian restaurants, 3 other restaurants, 16 pubs, an old railway, now the midlewood way and a canal, plus white nancy, a hilltop folly.......... Fancy a look http://flickr.com/search/?q=bollington&w=all:)

I love the canals,Rick, you see we don't have any up here, just rivers and a great big pond (the North Sea):D, here's a nice vid of your patch,I believe:rolleyes::cool:

Looks very nice, so how far is the canal from the school?
Not bothered about the Indian as you know I like to be by the water:D

Well I used to live on my boat in Bollington, walk to work 10 mins.:)

It makes the crane of the starboard bow look a little small:D

That crane is actually a reproduction of old crane that used to work on the Tyne in shipbuilding and repair, not many working cranes left:(,sad to say:confused:
