Meanwhile in Saltburn.

I agree. We were there recently and it was pretty hard to park the car let alone a van but they do have proper spaces for motorhome as you say and an Elsan point. However the charges are a bit steep. I was reading up on them and its going to mount up for an overnight unless you arrive late and leave really early. Say you arrive mid afternoon and leave mid morning its going to cost you £30!

The council would do better to just offer a 24 hour price. Say £12. Then again I have no idea if they are getting used or full or not. If they are then people are clearly prepared to pay.

Saltburn is a very popular location, ergo people will pay.

I agree with Barry about the prices being a bit steep, but if the CatNab area includes an elsan point for campers then it's a service above just a straight parking spot, which is a plus point for me.

Seems they are trying to reach a compromise to keep everyone happy, plus it doesn't appear to ban overnight parking for all vehicles along the seafront after 17:00, including campers, which is a positive, no?

Yes, you could argue it is discriminating specifically against campers and mohos, but with the backlash and anti-moho sentiment that's been going on in the UK the last 6 years or so, the progress seems to be moving in the right direction here.

It does seem to be an attempt to deter those who take the pee and hog all the public parking for days on end? 🤔🤷‍♀️

not been there for a few years but used to go now and then, long before they made the motorhome bays. was ok parking my 7.5mtr van there, used to go in the corner on the right when you enter. sure last time was £6 some pence for 24 hours. used to cha to a couple of vw surfer guys
