Do they work for you, and if so what type do you find are the best please?
Bd..

We tried a 4" memory foam topper was pleased with it so replaced it with a memory foam mattress

There is quite a few mattress toppers, top right hand corner of page click on advance search and put in mattress toppers.I use memory foam on top of a 24 year old mattress, very comfy.:sleep-027:

I've tried 1", 2" and 3" toppers and find that the 2" toppers offer the best comfort level, without taking away from the support of the mattress

Memory foam mattress are made of a composite of base foam with a memory foam 'topper', we have memory foam mattress, but due to dodgy hip I need a extra topper, without it I can sometimes end up in pain.

We changed from 1"Memory foam because it started to break up. And it was a nuisance. Whenever I complained about the length of time since the last rumpy pumpy.. It would pipe up with ," You last made love 3 days and 12 hours Ago."... It had to go!
Bought a cheapo mattress topper, from TK. MAX It works a treat.
Light, easy to pack and clean. Alas there is no brand name on the label.

We tried a 2" topper above a worn mattress, it helped but we still ended up replacing the mattress with a memory foam one from Ikea.

I need an Orthopaedic quality mattress because of back problems and I find a thin memory foam topper works very well for a good nights sleep.

We had a 2''memory foam mattress topper from Argos, cost about £90.We bought it mainly to smooth out the lumps and bumps after making the jigsaw puzzle double bed up in a previous Autotrail. It worked well and was comfortable, the only drawback was that it did get too warm when the weather was very hot,but I suppose you could say that about any bed in hot weather although it doesn't happen very often in our climate.:D

We have a 1" memory foam mattress topper in our motorhome which works really well for us. We always have a good nights sleep in our bed "over the garage".
The foam is placed directly onto the existing mattress and a sheet covers the lot.

I've got a Tempur memory foam mattress at home and 2" or 3" toppers on the spare beds... love them. When my husband was still alive, we had a giant superking-sized topper for the enormous bed in the U-shaped rear lounge of the motorhome, which we encased in a big duvet cover instead of a sheet... 2 clean sides - bonus! :lol-053: I can't cope with rolling up the huge topper on my own, so now I have a smaller topper and just use half the bed... which is fair enough! :) I have a couple of luggage straps to wrap/clip around the topper when it's rolled and that makes it really easy to carry and throw up in storage as well. So, 2 minutes to pull out the bed, unroll the topper and throw on the pillows and duvet. Longer to roll it all up and stow it - maybe 4 minutes - but it's certainly done and dusted by the time the kettle's boiled in the morning!

I honestly wouldn't be without memory foam, especially with a history of back and hip pain, as others have mentioned. I don't find it too warm but those that do could use a lighter cover. I'd recommend the "Coolmax" zip-on covers for the toppers too... supposed to keep things cooler but also makes the foam literally easier to handle, as foam sort of sticks to itself stubbornly when you're trying to put it in a cover. Duvalays look totally fabulous but at a price of course. I got all my toppers from Amazon and wouldn't buy anything less than a 2", which is just about right for the van I think.

All of which has made me very sleepy... :sleep-027::sleep-027::sleep-027:

i went the whole hog jennie got a mattress from ikea went there and tried it out first walked on it had siesta on it lol

As my likey button isn't working I'd like to like all the above posts. I cut down a memory foam topper I'd used in the house, got someone to put a permanent cover on and used flat sheets to have fitted sheets made. It's really comfortable and rolls up to fit the bedding locker.

W have an inexpensive 1" foam topper from dunelm on our drop down bed, we put it on the mattress then cover with bottom sheet, add duvet and that's it done for the trip.

At the moment we are staying in a holiday apartment sleeping on the sofabed, after a very uncomfortable first night we brought the topper in - made such a difference!
