Low watts plug in heater

Has anyone any experience of 400 500 watt plug in ceramic fan heaters for use in a motorhome when on a low amp hook up .
 
I also have 450 oil filled, . The small plug ins are easy to store and very light . And fan heaters heat up fast
 
Yes, I got one. It's brilliant, much more effective than an oil filled one and it hasn't overbalanced and crushed my toes yet, either.

Great for a quick warm up before bed on chillier summer nights or first thing in the morning when on EHU. I have a bigger 1500 watt freestanding one for winter but can run both on a decent 16 amp EHU, one either end of the van, if it gets really cold.

Eck Caz you like To be snug, how do you think one would cope in winter ,I'm thinking on 6 amp hook ups. Bazz
 
I have one of these run of the inverter, mine is 400w as the 500 cut the inverter after 10 mins, its at the passenger side foot well so as to warm the wife when we go out in winter as the van heater takes time to get up to speed.

Trev I saw them at the range on the jml stand ,was going to buy one a bargain 500w at only £39 99 .

Not really, the little 400w at one end and the 1500w at the other is still pulling less power than the 2Kw one I used to use, and it spreads the heat better.

Don't know what sort of campsites you use but I can't ever remember being on a UK site that only has a 6 amp EHU, even abroad the last one I saw was back in 2008. Even so, 6 x 230v = 1,380 watts, so one like I used to use which had a 1Kw setting would be fine, or you could have 2 or even 3 of the 400w ones on.

I didn't pay anything like 40 quid for mine, it was under twenty. Can't remember where I got it now - B&M, Home Bargains or Wilko, probably.

Whittington Goosnargh meet 6 amp ,JML tad expencive
 
We have a " greenhouse" heater ceramic fan, which uses 400w and we had to turn it off really soon the other evening when I just wanted the chill taken off....don't know where we got it though. Rarely use EHU, must have bought it for our low wattage in Portugal....good for standby in the van now.
 
Had ours out of one of the OAP mags, Easylife or something like that. £15 I think. They have some interesting "aids" at the back of the mag. :whistle:

Barry i buy all this guff thinking I’ll give it a try and I have one the same as in the photos above and truthfully they are 💩 unless you have it inserted somewhere they are useless it heats about 6 inches around . You can have mine for free if you want It.
