I only use gas to heat water, when not doing so the bottle is shut off.

Our water and space heating is a diesel heater. What alternatives are there to gas for cooking? We have a Spinflow spirit stove on our boat. While it is nice not to have gas on the boat (even more issues than in a mh) the spirit stove is slower at cooking and less controlable and boy does it smell. You really can't cook without the hatch open.

Obviously the reason for the gas explosion will be revealed after investigation.

Before a long trip out, I do a tightness test below the kitchen worktop, also apply leak detection spray at joints I can access.

Tank change over, same again, apply leak detection spray where the regulator make thread is located into the tank female thread. And while in the gas locker, the joints are given a liberal spray too.

I do get a tad paranoid about these things, hence the checks, especially at tank change overs.

If you have enough solar and batteries, you could have an Induction hob.

If the occupant has no other injuries, I would expect enough pressure blast to blow the doors off will have burst his eardrums.

I would have thought windows would have gone if its gas explosion, surely they are weaker than door?

It seems to be the thing that a lot of self builder’s miss out, as they seem hell bent on insulating and draft proofing as a priority.
Also the fridge vents are in the side of the cabinet that is housing the fridge, which would make them inside the camper once the door is closed
