Looking for a (cheap) Camper Van & Advice

[RAW]

A good friend of mine is a paid up member so he suggested I join as I am potentially taking my first foray into the Camper Van World.
I am looking to buy a Van although I do not have a huge budget and am looking for advice and assistance as well as potentially meeting new people.

As far as a camper goes. That Merc posted earlier looks a great deal. You'll need to think about the minimum spec you'd be happy with and how you are going to use the van... I needed gas heating and a toilet. I wanted gas powered hot water but only got a 240v electric hook up option, I also wanted a gas cooker but didn't get it. I wanted a shower too but never got it. I made a few compromises but got a van that met just about most of my requirements. Over the next year or so, I'll try to sort out the things I wanted but for the time being, what I got will do just fine. as long as you've got a bed, a gas ring or two and running water, it's a million times better than a tent.
