Might sound a bit obvious, but have you asked at the hotel, they may let you park there. Probably worth a shot.

Forgot to mention I used Five Acres Caravan Club Site
Beetham, Chard, Somerset, TA20 3QA for an overnight.
Why membership also of Caravan Club?
For its £37 I get the magazine and a discount on my insurance far in excess of that amount.
Plus it gives me a backup in areas of the UK. where wild camping is difficult to impossible.
Truck laybys don't attract me!

yeah-nastie hotel but par fo de course on mainland uk I find( Irish hotels generally very obliging especially iof spending a shilling(or2). Suggest yo do NOT give daughter away-but take her back and try sell her in another , more accomodating venue!

i've given up... bookes a B&B 1/2 a mile away from the hotel

bet you when i get down there i'll find plenty of places i could have stayed over...

but can't take the risk on this occasion
