Calmac's website is doing my nut in!!!

Does anyone have the cost for a 6m van on the Lochaline/Fishnish Ferry Please? (Or Tobermory/Kilchoan, either will work for me)

Ring the booking service or the pier office, they're both very helpful.

We managed to book an island hopper on two trips in the past three years, but I agree the websites can be a complete pain in the Harris,or Lewis come to that.:lol-049:

Lochaline ticket: a return ticket within 5 days was £45 plus £7 x 2 for the Corran Ferry. The ticket did say up to 8m though so not sure if we were over charged. No booking was needed. If i was doing it again and travelling from the South i would pay the extra and go from Oban because its a long journey on single track roads from Lochaline. Think she quoted £85 from Lochaline going back via Oban.

Hope this helps

At that price its worth going round. Already had the quote for Oban @ £112.60

Single track roads don't bother me one bit, the trick is to drive them like your a local!!!

and treat the heeland coos like a roundabout:lol-053:

normally i would agree and love the far North of Scotland including the single track roads but these were busy and fast , and i don't hang about myself. Dont forget the Corran Ferry at £7 each way. I haven't worked out if any fuel would be saved going via Oban ? although I agree £116 is steep.

Assuming you start in Oban, its 67 miles to Lochaline via Corran. Thanks to the limiter, my Tranny's doing 40 mpg plus. (Although I'll probably be heading south from FW)

if you come via salen theres an area just outside the village towards the launching platoons that looks like housing
foundations,if u speak to the guy at the boat house he may let you park there over night.
its no loss or gain to him,but the house building contract fell through.

the corran ferry stops at 9pm

and its a half hour service on a sunday.
