Is there any downside to not using the app? More data usage? Won't work when no signal?

I'm not aware of any downsides, but I'm no expert. The app itself won't work offline, so no loss there. As said, you could raise a support ticket and provide your web app screenshot for Phil to take a look.

Reviews can be closed by the simple action of clicking anywhere outside the review panel i.e. on the map display behind it.

But on my phone screen, the review takes up the entire screen so there is no "anywhere outside it" to click on.

I was referring to your screenshots which do show a perimeter area... Perhaps I misunderstood.

Ah I see what you mean.

I think there may be a bit of an overscan issue on the phone. That was a screen grab created by the phone saving what it thought was being displayed. The reality is the gap down the side is tiny and I have tried and failed to get any response trying to press on that tiny gap at the side. I have got it to work and close the reviews pressing on the not quite as tiny gap at the bottom.

It would still be easier if the red cross was visible, like it is on the view in browser version.

It is niggles like this that make me not use a phone as a "computer" very much because I just hate the dumbed down user interface, using a bog fat finger to try and activate something far smaller than the finger etc. So everything that can be done to make it easier is appreciated.
