The council have stopped motorhome parking here pending planning appeal, I know a lot of our members have used this place. The Marina has lodged an appeal and are seeking support. Representations can be made on the gov website at https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/ViewCase.aspx?caseid=3203773. The closing date for representations is 6Aug... so there’s only a little time. There is discussion of this on the motorhome fun website giving details of a letter sent out by the Marina asking for motorhomers to send representations.

Nobody seems to be aware of any complaints or evidence of obstruction or nuisance, the area is not overlooked by residential property. Use of Marina and other canal side parking for motorhomes is common practice on the continent...and so on. I’m sure you can dream up all sorts of benefits that may accrue from having motorhomes staying...tourism, concert attendance, museum visits, shopping...

If you have stayed here and value the place you now have a chance to help. If someone who has stayed there can draft a response and put in this thread it may help/ encourage more of us to respond quickly

Also done, as I hope many others will.
The appeals website is down for maintenance from Friday afternoon till Sunday, so there really is a short time window left to comment.

Wish more would get in on the act ,were all arms n legs then when it needs doing (silence) if you know what I mean.

Just sent appeal form

Never used this facility, but was hoping to use it sometime, so have done my bit.

Done mentioning economic benefits that motorhome users bring to a community, the convenience for ferry users, the growing motorhome user base in the UK, and the recognition of this by other town and county councils (naming names) who encourage motorhome users to their areas by providing facilities and overnight parking.

Done

Incremental income benefits to the city of Liverpool, and the use of an existing asset can only bring benefit. There is no impact upon local residents and the local economy can only benefit from money spent in local shops ,businesses ...The motor home community tend to attract those with a higher than average disposable income.. Liverpool is a city that over the last few years has become a tourist destination particularly after its city of culture status . A proud city which those decision makers would do well to consider, other venues who have promoted venues of a similar nature are thriving and there has been no indiciation of anti social behaviour etc.

Liverpool has seen the benefit of tourism for a few years now, Motorhomes are a fast growing market and it would be shameful for Liverpool to miss a tourism opportunity.

There is only one logical outcome and that is to endorse and approve as per the application
