Levelling ramps

I have 4 X Fiamma levellers, 2 X Milenco Quattro levellers and 2 X Milenco Quattro 2 levellers and they are all in use and as good as new apart from a few scratches.

Fiamma levellers for 14 years, Milenco Quattro for 12 years and Milenco Quattro 2 for 4 years

I use them regular because i like to be as level as possible then my Carlsberg does not spill and my wonderful Dometic Fridge Freezer works perfectly.

I suggest maybe some practice with pedal management and or a little thought on how to put them down correctly then maybe they won`t get damaged

Waffle boards

My Milenco triples are still fine after 2 years.

Anyone thought of using these fibreglass waffle board bridging ladders with wooden blocks at one end?

They can be cut down to the length of normal ramps to reduce the weight and for easier storage.
I have a couple of short sections to put under the front wheels to get me out of mud.

Are these strong enough to take wheel loads of 3.5T van even if not fully supported along their length. I’ve got some plastic waffle board but it’s too soft and flexible, but alright spread out on the surface, although rather too slippery to get a goof grip.

I have been using the Millenco Quattros and they seem very durable.

They are bulky and heavy to carry around, but they are far better than the cheaper Thule levellers I used to use.
The millenco levellers have a base to prevent them sinking into soft ground, and the levels are curved for better holding.

That little lot could overload a van. Have you considered taking holidays and trips to Holland?

So if the first set (Fiamma 14 years old) are still perfect and as new NOW why two years later did you go and buy the Milenco quattro and then 10 years later buy yet another set of Milencos?

Are you a collector, if so I have a few damaged ones you can have to fill out your collection.

I have a set of Fiamma (one broken after about 2 years use) and a set of Milencos (both damaged but still just about servicable after 3 years use) when these are gone I dont think I will throw any more money away on a new set

If you want durable the wood is the answer, scaffold boards are cheap new or second hand.

Or have a look around a timber yard or builders merchants.

Decent bits of wood will outlast your campervan.

Have I got Thease Plastic Millenco Lattice stepped Ramp Thingys ?,,,YEP !. In a Lovely Blue bag.
Do I use them ?,,,Nope !.
It’s Scaffold Boards for me as I also use them as Jack Pads & Soft ground boards, Work bench, Table & Bench Seat if I need them.

Here at this park up I’m using two on the Drivers side, The Other Two you can just see Stored at the Stern for the night.

Ramps

We had Milenco Triple 2s; they failed at first use (see photos). We bought the Milencos because the yellow Fiamma ramps we have aren't high enough and don't work with the handbrake on our van. The handbrake has a little backlash that's enough to let the van roll back down about half the ramp length. However, we inherited the Fiamma ramps when we bought a caravan in 2001 and kept them when we switched 'vans in 2006 and were using them for while last year with the motorhome. So, those Fiamma ramps were secondhand in 2001 and still going strong 16 years later. That said, I suspect that modern products won't have the same longevity!

They certainly don’t!

Pssttt! Anybody want to buy a set of Milenco Black triples,, OR as set of three yellow Fiamm.

I need the money to go towards the cost of the Hydrodyabollickal jacks I have fitted.

A mix of surfaces

Depends on what type of ground you park on, grass and they last forever but I always loose a chunk parking on rocky uneven surfaces in the Lakes.

Including some (but not much) rough stoney ground !

I try really hard not to park on rough stoney ground, plays havoc with my stilettoes :scared:

Anyone found any decent levelling ramps that last more than a couple of seasons? So far we’ve got through three sets, Fiamma and Milenco, and only have a 3.5t van.

We were full-time for 3 years and used Milenco Quattro with an Autotrail Delaware (4250kg gross weight) for two of them and with a Comanche (5000kg gross weight) for the last year. They have been used on grass and hard standing and are still in perfect condition. I suspect the little Elddis Sunseeker at 3200kg won't trouble them too much! :-D
