Is it just me or does everyone seem to go through these in no time at all. They seem to last a year or two tops. I tend to buy the Fiamma Jumbo types that are pretty big (high on the last level) but also very light. I am probably answering my own question here as perhaps the fact that they are so light is why even though they are rated to five tons or something like that they fall apart pretty quickly. The last pair at Christmas one of them finally split in two. I still used it. just stuck it together and drove up on it and left the van on it for a week. I wonder if thats the reason. Our van doesn't move much so we may stay parked up in the same spot for a week or two and just use the bike.

Any recommendations? Anyone got a spare set for sale of something big that wont fall to bits?

Not me never use them if my van is on a slope I chuck my pillows to the other end of the bed, but I believe the yellow ones last longer but are a lot heavier.

Having gone through 3 sets of Fiamma Level Up ramps which I found to be poor I tried a pair of Thule ramps which have been really good. They are much stronger and have lasted well so far, at least 2 years with plenty of use (I really like being level) and no distortion or cracks. https://www.thule.com/en-gb/comfort-and-security/levelers/thule-levelers-_-307617
I paid less than the Thule price shown on the link so worth a shop around.

Yes it`s just you o_O Maybe go on a CAMC / C&CC " how to use levelling ramps course "

I have 2 sets of Fiamma Jumbo, 1st set bought in 2005 and 2nd set bought 2007, both are still good although a little stained / grubby.

I also have 2 sets of Milenco Quattro, 1st set bought 2007 on offer at a show but not sure on the exact date of the 2nd set ( Quattro 2 ) which is used at home to put an angle on the motorhome this helps stop water pooling on the roof, these are in use for a couple of months at a time with no problems and are still in great condition :)

The 4 step Milenco`s were bought after i couldn`t get level at a great location in Scotland using the Fiamma`s, our fridge / freezer is a fussy bugger and needs to be level otherwise it has a hissy fit and they give higher lift at home 🤬. 1 set lives in the motorhome garage and the other set in the home garage so i never leave home without any

Just get yourself some decent timber blocks ....
After destroying 2 sets of supposedly heavy duty ramps ...
I sorted some timber blocks out and it gives us far more flexibility height wise than ramps

Scaffolding board 2in or 4in plus good on wet ground, wife is the runner as we drive off, plus good for road as not yellow and in plain sight.

Barry - I have a set of Mlenco quattros in a bag you can have for a song but getting them to you is the problem as they are big and heavy. I don't need them now. They show some signs of battle scarring due to use but still well usable with no cracks. Let me know if you want to pursue.

At 6 tonne gross I destroyed two pairs of Fiama ones in months, bought a pair of straight wedge Milenco ones in 2014. They are still as good as new.

Cheers. Will send you a PM. I always liked the look of them but the weight put me off. Double what the Fiamma ones are but then again its like 3.5kg extra I think.

Indeed

Ow much!! :D

Not for me. I love the old blocks. Got it off to a fine art and none of this getting the little lady to stand outside shouting directions nonsense! If Grahams blocks dont work out ill just end up with another pair of them as at least I know they fit where I want them to go. Its clear though it seems to be just me that manages to break them after a year or two. Odd that. Or maybe it isnt. :D

It might be the surface you use them on, not designed for hard surfaces I'd think just grass or gravel.

Sometimes I guess. Usually grass but they do occasionally get used on hard surfaces but so do zillions of others on Aires all over France. I guess they cost less than half a tank of diesel but its just when they split in two mid trip it can be a real bummer! :D

I have often wondered if manufacturers of just about anything are missing a trick with me. They should give all their products to me to test. If I cant break them, nobody can. The could have a label. 100% Bazza proof! Probably impossible though. Nobody would manage it.

I think if you have a rock in the middle they will just bend until they snap.

I just bought on of these to see if levelling up would be less guess work.

A lot of the wild spots we probably use even on grass are often a bit rocky or uneven. Could be a contributory factor. Ground and grass gets rock hard in some places in summer and if its not even that could bend them.

There is always the option to download a free bubble level app onto your smartphone. The one I use is bubble level galaxy. Alternatively make a cup of tea and see if it spills when you pour water in the mug. Or place a marble on the worktop.

Our Milenco blocks are doing OK used mainly on Spanish rock or roasted French soil.

Yeah I posted a pic of mine is use somewhere not so long ago, but you have to get up and put it somewhere, the inclination jobby sits on the dash so hopeingly it'll be better, it's not as accurate of course, and the van has to be nose high to have the wastes work, but nose down for the beds, crap build as usual.
