Hi all
I have a Fiat Ducato x250 lifestyle 630g with a leisure battery under the seats that are located behind passenger seat
I want to replace the battery with a good quality leisure battery, could anybody recommend a replacement and a battery
that will fit, I am hoping someone has done this, and can advise us many thanks.

Kind Regards Vana

Size up the old one or see what space you have,to me the best buy is a varta or bosch silver frame battery which will hold a full 100% durabilty for 5 years, all other standard lead acid batts will go down hill from day one.
Dont let sales mens drival talk you into anything else.

I can't advise on your choice of battery, but once you identify what you want it might be worth checking Alpha Batteries to supply them.

I bought a battery from them last year and got a very good price with our Wild Camping 15% discount. Excellent service with next day delivery to Scotland.

I agree totally with Trev regarding makes. If whatever amp hour you have works then you can play safe and go for same ah or else check rated output of charger. You can usually work on 10 x rated output so a charger rated at 18 amp can safely support up to 180ah batter bank.

. Spot on Trev

I would have really liked Trojan`s but they a bit too tall to fit under the bench where they are housed

.12V 130 AH Leoch Adventurer AGM Deep Cycle Leisure Battery | eBay

I have just bought a Leoch adventurer 130A/h but not the AGM type mine is just the standard flooded cell - £50 cheaper.

My last battery was a Platinum 110 and according to the date stamp on the case its 9 years old - I changed it not because it was dead or even because it was starting to not hold charge I changed it because the vehicle battery (same vintage) died and I thought I may as well change both.

BTW the Leoch is significantly shorter (in height) than the Platinum which might be important in your application.

leisure battery

Hi guys
I took the battery out and have put it on my Ctec charger indoors away from the M/H
it seems to be charging, the reason I thought it was dead, because no info was available on the
panel, I have reset the panel. that now seems to work Ok, allthough off the main engine battery, I will leave
the leisure battery on charge. (numax lv 25 mf90) the batt says it is just over 2 yrs old on the label.
If not able to recover it to life it looks like the Varta replacement,
It means a lot to have help when needed: bow::bow::bow:

Kind Regards Vana

there is no doubt that Trojans are the best (although I am open to Lithium being better) but does the poster actually need the best?

A pair of trojan 105's will set you back close to £300, use a lot of space 2x (L 262 mm x W 181 mm x H 281 mm) and weigh in at 62 pounds (28Kg) EACH.

Not every one needs that sort of performance or wants that size and weight (not to mention the large hole in the cheque book) - a lesser battery which is smaller, cheaper and lighter may be more than adequate for the application

Sometimes long term it can be more cost effective to spend a few more quid up front and have done with it.

on the other hand sometimes its better to buy cheaper and change frequently, Trojans MIGHT last longer (but equally might not) but I can replace my 130amp/hour battery three times for the price of a set of trojans.

And I dont have to carry an extra half hundred weight (25Kg) of lead around with me!

there is no doubt that some people need Trojans (or something similar) but most dont - I go away usually for at least 4 weeks at a time with no solar and my ten year old Platinum 115A/h never left me short of power so its hard for me to see any advantage in pending £300 rather than £100

And that's fine for you. I don't know how you know the requirements of most.
