Leisure battery not charging

Even with me having it running like this in REALITY, you dismiss it based on that there is a link on the allmighty internet to prove that it can't work. Oh hold on, you can't be bothered.

...going out now to switch it on and off for a few times. Not everybody is blessed to be present when miracles happen. :scared:

They only thing what worries me is that I could possibly damage the alternator by feeding 12V in the charge line indicator the wrong way round. Maybe a diode is a good solution to prevent this.

I am not dismissing anything and it is not meant to be personal.

I put up the alternative (and the precaution) for the benefit of anyone else who might want to charge both batteries at once and is not techie enough to fiddle with split charge relays. A lot of people read these posts you know. :idea-007:

I shall keep my comments to myself as I did not realise you were the sensitive sort.

I didn't take it personal, just find it a bit strange to say "won't work, but I am not telling you why".
but you said, it will blow the fuse which it clearly doesn't

I am fully aware of this and would never post stuff I am not confident about. Or at least not without a big warning.

well, we have to work out who the sensitive is of the both of us

A forum is a place to share stuff and I am by no means perfect and always keen to learn and improve. But if a person disagrees with me, I expect some sort of exchange of facts / information.

I think the least said the better as there is a difference of opinion here.

No sarcasm from me.

Seriously, I do not mean this sarcastic or whatever. If I am doing anything wrong, I am the first one who wants to know about it.

Now you have started another thread "warning" about "fiddling" with this.

Can you please explain why my Motorhome hasn't gone up in flames????

Follow the link I made to Motts Org regarding bridging the van and leisure batteries and you will see the need for the fuse which you insist is not necessary. I don't expect any kind of apology from you and so I will just ignore all your future posts.

at which point have a said a fuse is not required? There are already the required fuses in place from the manufacturer together with the split charging relay.

I have even fitted ANOTHER fuse in the switching line I added.

Every time you turn your engine on, the split charge connects the two batteries. I am doing the same, just manually
without the engine running.

I can't see any reason I could possibly owe you an apoligy for?

Can you please engage in a DISCUSSION and stop your "that's it, I am going, have enough, can't be bothered to tell you" approach. This is very patronising I am afraid

NOBODY is going to learn anything this way.

PS this is not a personal battle for me, just want to get it right for the benefit of all. And me of course if I am about to blow myself up!

PSS I followed the "link" (not really a link, had to google it, guess you couldn't be bothered again...) and it's shows EXACTLY what I have. Now instead of feeding 12Volt from D+, us a 12volt Battery.......

Here is the link http://www.motts.org/SPLIT CHARGING SYSTEM.htm
