Hi all

At the moment I always (nearly) drive with my dipped headlights (and so rear lights) on.

I have spaces in my "Bumper" for Running lights.
Obviously I would want LED which would activate when ignition is on (only)

1 Is this legal
2 If so is this sensible
3 Where do I get such lights
Vehicle is based on a Renault Master
4 How easy is a DIY or how much to fit ? It would seem (to me) to be a simple job for a vehicle electrical person

1) Yes, I believe it is only illegal to have LED headlights which have to be factory fitted.
2) The bulbs should last far longer than ordinary ones, which is why I replaced my last vans marker lights with LEDs, they were always blowing before.
3) Many available online - Google LED running lights
4) My marker lights were a very easy install.

The DRLs I fitted to my VW T5 were Ledcom ones and while they were certainly not the cheapest around, they were excellent quality. I would say if they have a kit designed to fit your model of Renault Master, then you won't go far wrong buying those :)

Oh dear!

I feel a purchase coming on. :)

The ledcom ones are good quality and dim when lights switches on to keep MOT man happy.

I used the Ledcom ones on previous van, perfectly good although the seals must have suffered one winter trip to Sweden as condensation formed in them, still worked ok though. Mind it did go down to -37 though.
They dim when lights are turned on, as they should.

Went mad on the new van and fitted JW Speaker 8632 LED headlights which have DRL built in.

I fitted a set of these Ledcom daytime running lights, to my 2005 Renault Master, in July, of this year.

One of the lights misted up with condensation, within a day of it being fitted. The other light did the same, after a couple of weeks.

Although I fitted them in July, I purchased the kit approx 3yrs ago, so couldn't really ask Ledcom to replace them, although it is obviously a manufacturing fault.
As regards using them, I find them to be very helpful, making our vehicle much more visible, to other road users.

I fitted a pair of THESE and am very pleased with them good solid alloy case and stainless bracket

Wiring diagram can be down loaded from LEDcoms website on download tab in product discription

And I thought I was bad, as I bought a set two years ago that I haven't fitted yet

Just don't fit them to close to your indicators otherwise it can make the indicator near impossible to see. My van, a Relay, has the drl fitted next to the indicators but to overcome the visibility problem the drl are switched off when the adjacent indicator is in use - I haven't looked as to what happens when the hazards are in use.

We had two holes in the front bumper that looked unsightly so I fitted the ledcom Led lights, easy fit and with the relay they stay on for a minute after switching the ignition off, they look and work good

I would and have fitted white led parking bulbs into h/lamp units which are fab, also done all rear units to.
This leave more free power from engine alt to top of batterys faster.
I had trouble getting the parking bulbs into h/lamp so i removed main h/light builb and held side bulb in place then pushed socket unit in and twisted bayonet bulb into the socket, fiddly but sorted, there are smaller bulbs though but i wanted big and bright, look like h/lamps are on there so good, use them in daylight to.
Ebay from china.

Completely clueless about fitting anything into/onto my van. (A 2007 Renault master based Pilote). How easy would it be - or do I need to get it done by the local garage?
