Langholm - Arkelton

Was planning on doing some wild camping somewhere around Langholm and Arkleton, two of use with tents. Really looking for somewhere secluded with nice views , dont mind a bit of a trek if its neccesary. Does anyone have any suggestions? Really dont want to upset any landowners or anyone for that matter! :)

firstly welcome to the site.
If your talking about Langholm in the Scottish Borders, they have some common land up above the town, sure you will find somewhere up around the monuement for your tents. This from one of my previous threads.

Langholm Common Riding

If your in the area of Langholm (Dumfriesshire) this event starts during the evening of the 30th July 09. Main rideout on the 31July, with the pipebands and penny whistle band marching through the streets at various times. Games take place after the main rideout, on the towns sportsfield. Pubs open around 8am until whenever!
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit last, and may well be visiting again this year.

Make sure your not camping during this time, a couple of hundred horses and riders gallop up to the monuement, and you don't want to be in the way of that:eek:
A C&CC THS is on at this time also, on the Rugby field if you get stuck for somewhere to pitch the tents.

Thanks for the quick reply think ill look for a dip somewhere near monument out of the way and hope it doesnt rain! haha :)
