Lake District places to stay overnight?

Hello,
Thinking of one night stopover in Lake District but proper sites want minimum 5 nights at his time of year - any suggestions?

You need to be a bit more precise than just the Lake District, it`s a big area.

Hi,
I have stayed/parked up in 2 different places on the Ambleside to Grasmere road. The first is on the right side under the cliff. It is possible to get quite invisible - I wasn't bothered though. I stopped opposite this, on the left side of the road. It goes down to a large park -I drove to the end, shaded by trees, should be OK, it says no camping! (I think) Again not bothered by anyone, but well out of sight. Not sure either place is great. I was in a Romahome

Loads of places - check out the POI's. LR Keswick/Portinscale, CR Seathwaite, - just a couple to get you started!

I often use Crossfells Campsite near Penrith, C&CC CS site. No problem staying one night @ £10.00.
As others have said there are plenty of POI's, it depends what area of the lakes you wish to stop at.
