Hi, we are traveling around France at the moment and planning to visit Lake Annecy next week. Any help on good aires or wildcampong spots?

Wild camping last time we were there was a bit tricky. The Aire in Annecy town is a bit of a sardine tin job and always busy. There is a good farm Aire at Lathuile at the bottom end of the lake about half a mile back from the lake but it's 8-10 miles from Annecy town. Best if you have bikes of a scooter.

And in August ? If you look on Google theres plenty of camp sites The aire is in a ideal location to explore the town if you can get a space

We usually stay at les champs fleuris at Duingt on Acci card. Cheap for Annecy , close to lake and bus or cycle into Annecy. Mind I think it has changed ownership since last year. Its a stunning place to visit so I am sure you will enjoy wherever you stay.

Annecy is a bit special, there is so much to see and do, and because of that it's very busy.
Knowing this in advance, we decided that for once in our lives we would not be tight fisted, and that it was worth a few bob to enjoy the very short walk into the town nice and relaxed.
Our campsite was Camping de Belvedere, 8 Rte du Semnoz, 74000 Annecy.

Arrived at Annecy Lake this morning. Called camping du lac yesterday, they told us to be here by 11 and there might be spaces. We couldn't book. This morning in there were 3 spaces so setup beside the lake for the week.
