Thanks again for the further replies.:D I have decided to nag the old man into coming with us to start with, and then without him when we get used to wildcamping. The little one and I have camped on empty campsites a couple of times, but the owner has never been too far away for too long. Wildcamping will be a whole new experience. I don't go too far from home anyway as I don't like driving long journeys on my own. The next problem is one I have read about on here before. Do I have a bottle of wine with my supper? What if I get moved on?

As far as I know you can't be moved on without a court order unless they are going to tow you. There is the age old excuse that you are too tired to drive. If the police insist then ask for thier details so that if you are involved in an accident then they will be responsible. They also can't ask you to drive if your under the influence. So far I have not been moved on. Had a visit from the police once, started to explain that I was not part of the travelers that were camped down the road. He said that he knew that and started to ask about the van as he always wanted one. I would abstain for the first few times until you get some regular spots. I would recommend that you tell family or friends with a car where you are that way if you get stuck they can come to the rescue if your on your own.

Have ur wine, I do where ever I park.
Just make it obvious that U have no intention of driving. Put up front screens & turn driving seat if u can. They could then never prove that u had any intention of driving.
Any other things would help, like leveling blocks etc.
regards graham:cool:
yes i agree with you there graham, they cant make you move......just use common sense and park legally i.e not blocking and entrance or causing an obstruction etc etc..as long as your sensible im pretty sure you wont get moved on....samm x
