Now this may seem a crazy question but please read on.Given the price of cookers for campers,I was wondereing if it was possible to convert a standard cooker to CALOR,I seem to remember many years ago seeing an article about this, apparently all one has to do is change the Governer over from town to Calor[done professionaly of course] Now the 1st thing people scream is "WHAT ABOUT THE WEIGHT" but I have seen many small gas cookers in flat & bed sits that are only 1/2 the size of standard cookers.
I will close now in case some knowedgable person throws a Stillson Wrench at me.

Not a crazy question, simple answer YES

Many appliances are available with the correct jets for LPG, due to the fact that many rural properties run on LPG tanks or bottles.

When I bought my camper the cooker was u.s. so replaced with a domestic one at about 1/4 of the price. It was supplied with the additional jets for LPG included.

I used to fit out narrow boats for a living and after being asked to fork out up to £400 for a calor cooker that looked as if it came out of the 50's I did some shopping around and found that even cookers from Curry's , as long as they were built in Italy or Spain were available with a jet conversion kit for l.p.g. it is a simple jet swap that is easy to do, providing you identify each burner and its new jet and swop them one at a time. Then you just adjust the air shield untill you get a nice blue flame and you have cut out the rip off merchants at calor once again. I installed Full cookers Hobs and ovens by this method and saved me and the customer loads and these cookers were under half the price of the calor neanderthals.

crazy idea

Thank you Geoff & Tresriki for the information, I have on occasion seen small 2 ring top & oven cookers fer small flats etc, in 2nd hand shops going fer a song, that is what prompted the question,my old girl is getting past her sell by date & was thinking of a small LDV PILOT ex post office van,[its just me & the mut] thing is I rarely do w/e or weeks I tend to dissapear fer around 6 month or so ,therefore a cooker is much used, but as I would also need a small compressor fridge have to think of space & weight.Once more thank's & have a joyus christmas & a succesfull & prosperous New Year.
