Is it possible to wild camp on Jersey? Has anybody been? It appears that all the campsites are closed from end of September and I really want to go in October!!!

Dunno, I'm from Guernsey and Nothing could persuade me to go to Jersey for anything. You would have a much better holiday on our Island.:king:

Me from Guernsey as well, much better holiday on our Island - on a serious note, I wouldn't personally chance it. email the jersey TB and just ask for winter camp sites you never know.:goodluck:

Having recently visited Guernsey, I understand that motorhomes are only allowed if you have a confirmed booking on a camp site.
you will also find the roads very narrow in places, drivers are used to mounting the pavement when meeting a large oncoming vehicle.

Hope this helps:

Motorhomes
Information for Visitors to Guernsey
This note outlines the procedure to be adopted when a motorhome is to be
brought to Guernsey for holiday purposes and is to be used as
accommodation under an approved scheme operated by the two Island
campsites (Fauxquets and Vaugrat) in conjunction with the States
Environment and Commerce & Employment Departments.
This scheme does not cover visits to the Island by motorhomes for any other
purpose Visitors should contact the Environment Department for advice in this
matter.
Introduction
In order to protect the special environment of the Island and because of the
limitations of our roads, permission will not be granted to bring touring
caravans to Guernsey.
Permission has been granted however, to allow a limited number of
motorhomes to be accommodated on each of the authorised camp sites on
the Island.
Travelling to Guernsey with a motorhome
Visitors wishing to bring a motorhome with them to the Island to be used for
overnight accommodation can do so provided:
• the motorhome is not more than 6.9 metres long;
• the motorhome is booked onto a registered camp site (Fauxquets or
Vaugrat) within the terms of the approved scheme; and
• a motorhome permit has been obtained from the camp site operator.
The ferry operator, Condor Ferries, will not allow motorhomes on a ferry in
the absence of a motorhome permit.
While on the Island, motorhomes can be driven on the roads but must display
a windscreen sticker, provided with the motorhome permit, and must return to
the camp site each night. Parking on site will be limited to designated areas.
Visits to the Island are limited to a maximum period of one month.
Before travelling to Guernsey
The process for arranging a trip to Guernsey will normally involve:
• the visitor contacts the camp site of their choice to check availability
• if there is availability on site, a provisional booking is agreed17/05/2011 11:21:00
• the visitor completes the booking process with Condor Ferries
• the visitor confirms the booking with the camp site operator
• the camp site operator sends the visitor two copies of a motorhome
permit (one for retention by Condor Ferries)
The motorhome permit must be available for inspection at both the ferry
check-in point and by the Guernsey Border Agency at arrival on the Island.
The window sticker must be displayed at all times during the stay in
Guernsey.
The operator will keep a log including details of visitors, vehicles and length of
stay

Well I'll take that as a no then!

Thanks everybody for your input - think we'll go to Northern Ireland instead!!!
