In a parallel universe somewhere, I'm sure everyone including mechanics replaces washers and nyloc nuts and gaskets and stuff and obeys service instructions to the absolute letter, but in the ordinary old universe I live in, nobody does.
If you try working Copper sheet into complex shapes, you will find that unless you quench it, it will tend to split. You can only do a bit at a time then reheat and quench it, otherwise it splits. At least mine always did. :sad:
