Hi ,
Have a wedding to go to in Sorrento. Will be first time going south of Genoa so any advice welcome. Looking for quieter places where maybe we can walk our 2 dogs.

Have they rebuilt the flyover bridge yet. Dramatic drive over Genoa and for a dozen or more miles south.

The Cinque Terre are wonderful but you will have to do them by Train from the north or south plenty of campsits and Sotas near stations.

Pompey has a couple of ASCI campsites one is particularly handy with a rail station at its entrance that's on the Naples - Sorrento line not far from Sorrento. Nice bus journey from Sorrento that goes down the Corniche to Amalfi.

Also ferry from Sorrento to Capri.

Don't drive through Genoa!!!
Thanks Yes ,only been that way once before a few years ago. Was planning on staying on main road , no real interest in seeing city. Will have to check bridge ,forgottenabout that. Have heard about small roads in Italy so planning on using g main roads ,we are 7.5m

Thanks, yes need to check on flyover , hope there will be a decent deviation signposted if not.Yes had looked at Cinque Terre but discounted as probably too hilly for our old dog. Have heard dogs allowed on trains in Italy so may use them.
Pompey Accsi sites in our plan thanks.

Haven't really considered ferry so will have a think.

Potholes in Italy far far worse than here, shocking even on the motorway into Rome. Most beaches private, won't be going again

Hi ,just rethinking the ferry to capri bit as we have friends who will be there and its the wife's birthday so would be interested in any info you can give me.
Just been told its foot passengers only ?

We went as foot passengers but it is full size roll on roll off ferry. I wouldn't bother with a vehicle though not many miles of road and I should imagine parking would be a bugger. Good bus service between Capri and Ana Capri "cities".

It was an interesting visit to a unique place. Boat trip around the island is worth it. Take as much food and drink as you can though unless you have a fat wallet.

Trains very dog friendly but you do have to buy a ticket for them. Make sure you have a cloth muzzle in a bag as we have been asked to show but never used them. Obviously don’t forget to validate you4 tickets before you board the train. It’s to be noted that dogs on buses are often a no.
