We have been on the Isle of Man since Monday night. We have been based in Nobels Park in Douglas on an Aire. We are supposed to be paying £10 a night but the payment machine is faulty. Nobel’s park offers fresh water, and an elsan point. Surprisingly as far as I can see the only one on the island outwith a campsite. Everywhere you go you go you see motorhomes, and the island is very welcoming of us. We have travelled to Laxey on the tram, and today we travelled port Erin on the steam train. Yesterday we visited the Manx museum.

Tomorrow we are heading to our only campsite of the ten day trip in Ramsey. On route we will head up Snaefel the highest point on the island. We will then head north then down the west side of the island

Don't forget to see if you can get your knee down on the mountain.

Although it seems knee down is old hat now, at least one of the moto gp riders now gets his shoulder down!!!

Just in case you get a PCN (aka a speculative invoice from an unregulated parking company formally operated by clampers) for not paying never ever identify the driver after receiving the NTK, only refer to yourself as the registered keeper,

The solicitors and other legal experts at the ftla web site give their time freely and are really useful for dealing with these unscrupulous outfits.

What we are parked behind. Nobels park has about 100 pitches with EHU for the racing community who come with motorhomes. The bottom section is for us large enough for 30-40 vans. The EHU is turned off, and the toilets and showers are closed. But when a racing event is on the EHU is on, And the toilets and showers are open.

Maybe the machine isn't actually faulty and only works around when they have an event on?

I know that many are quite happy with forking out for nothing, but the idea of paying £10 a night for no facilities other than a place to park your wheels for the night still irritates the hell out of me... 🤷‍♀️ ;)

Looks like you're having a good time though, Bill. (y)

Last time I visited the IOM was on a business trip, actually first attempt was an aborted business trip. It was a very windy day and the bloke driving the ferry fluffed the change from first to second gear leaving Liverpool, end result the ferry was caught by the wind or a wave, rammed into the dock and tore a dirty great gash down the side….

After a few minutes of blind panic they moored up and announced over the tannoy abandon ship!
Do not return to the car deck!

After all the emergency services had turned up laughed at the boat driver and inspected the damage we were allowed to get our vehicles off!

Two weeks later I returned and stayed in an amazing but tired hotel up near Bride which has long since gone
The seals at port Erin were fun to watch!

I think fresh water and an elsan point are included.🫣
