Is this a worthwhile option for the EU

For simplicity maybe, for value for money, far from it:

Example prices:
For some Europe countries (France, Italy): 1GB - USD 3.99, 3GB - USD 8.99, etc.
 
I didn't look into it as I had no need.

I used Reglu for our trip and it was very good apart from it took over twenty minutes to buy it & annoying phone calls that hung up when I answered and loads of text messages in French.
 
Unlimited data for 30days $79, 5gb with no speed restrictions then 1mbps, so no good for watching TV
