Online ebay etc have 12v wifi units with antenna, you will require a data sime for this.Sorry if it’s been asked but I need something to keep in the camper for when we are away to help boost my phone signal. I need access to internet and get calls and make calls for emergencies
Do I need to contact my EE ?
One penny use EE.I have been in places where no signal was available to either 3 or Vodafone networks, so a signal booster would be of little use. I'm led to believe EE has good coverage in most places though.
Hims right, I’d only add a prepaid 3 sim via Scancom would be better than an EE contract card. But again that’s an upfront loaded cost.Slightly off topic but after advise from a fellow member I changed from using my phone to a dedicated router, Netgear Nighthawke and an EE sim.
Have to say it’s been brilliant. Had reception on Skye and more or less everywhere else I’ve been in England and Scotland.
Presently watching the sky cricket with my dodgy fire stick, excellent down and upload speeds. I now rarely use my roof mounted Aerial.
The Netgear router isn’t cheap but like most things you get what you pay for.
Got it now.Am I missing something here?
No matter what equipment you use if a (mobile) signal is not available from whatever provider in a particular location, yer fooked( Thats a Trevism)
Yes, some provide better coverage in particular areas, and some, none at all.
If a connection is essential, then is Starlink an option?
Basically yes your right, but often you’ll findAm I missing something here?

When we moved to this house there was no phone signal whatsoever, and no broadband but with a council grant we installed a 4G internet antenna on the wall for broadband and enjoyed around 10 thingys reception so although sceptical to begin with I can state that even without a phone signal to your phone you will get a phone signal to a decent antenna/modem for broadband, your phone will still be useless thoughAm I missing something here?

But would wifi calling work? If so the mobile will work. When we moved to this house there was no phone signal whatsoever, and no broadband but with a council grant we installed a 4G internet antenna on the wall for broadband and enjoyed around 10 thingys reception so although sceptical to begin with I can state that even without a phone signal to your phone you will get a phone signal to a decent antenna/modem for broadband, your phone will still be useless though
Was at Frampton Country Fair last weekend, as often happens at these shows the mobile networks where overwelmed and traders struggled to get payment machines working, I noticed two icecream vans with Starlink who where having no problems.I normally have other vans around me at race circuits and many use Starlink, Starlink users pretty much always get a signal but although I sometimes don’t when I do mines always faster. And it’s cheaper.
Not at the time with EE sim in the modem and the phone, now we have super fast fibre yes it does, remember this was 7 years ago which in internet terms is the Stone Age, btw we still have no phone signalBut would wifi calling work? If so the mobile will work.
Not necessarily Tim.Am I missing something here?
