I've already got insurance for my 1983 Hymer S550, and today enquired about switching the cover to a 1995 S660 - only to be told that it's too young to qualify for 'Classic' status! Anybody got any recommendations for good (cheap) specialist companies for these elderly ladies?

Cheers!

Try AIB. I think members get a discount. They will tailor a MH policy for you.

Ditto, I found their quote better than any I could get elsewhere and yes you do get a discount by mentioning you are a wild camping member.

Thanks, All. Hairydog - I've been quoted around £300 so far, which is a bump up from what I paid for the cheaper, smaller-engined and older S550.

try

We are using Advance insurance £256, it gives us 180 days Euro travel, legal aid, windscreen cover minus £100 excess or £10 if a chip repair. named driver and up to 8000 miles a year.

Advance quoted us £386.95 for renewal.
AIB - £359.97
Comfort - £302

Van is only 2 years old, we'll be going with Comfort. :rabbit:

Big differences . Think its horses for courses . AIB , for example , no use to me but many get the best deal from them . Pays to shop around every year

Lots of members say they get good deals with the likes of AIB, Comfort, etc. etc but for me none of them come even close to my renewal quotes with Safeguard :rolleyes2:

Been with them for years now

I knew there was another one to try.

Safeguard - :( £383.08

Have you tried NFU? They were good for us...£250 but can be variable!
