Insurance for towcar

Good afternoon

I am looking for advice regarding insurance on a LHD year 2000 Smart towcar.

It is better to just insure it independently or go back to the people who insure my motorhome?

We towed a car with an A-Frame for just over 3 years and always kept the policies separate.

I informed each company what i was doing and neither seemed really bothered but noted it on the policies.

It didn`t affect either policy as both premiums stayed the same.

Both my Van and towcar are with the same insurer but only because they were the cheapest quotes for each, until 3 or 4yrs ago they were always with different insurers, I don't see as it matters to be honest as long as they are both insured
