Went down round swange area over easter, seems to be a lot more people wild camping now.Is this happening all over the country.

Hi Gary, I was away Sat. Sun. and Mon. nights at Easter.
Wildcamped in 3 different spots in Scotland.
Did not see a traffic jam once, but listened to all the horror stories on the radio of people trapped in 3, 6 and even 10 mile queues.
Was thinking of going down South but will wait until everybody is back at work and school.
YES wildcamping is getting more and more popular.

Glad you had a nice weekend. We went around swange area no problems wild camping or with traffic, must have been lucky.

Home now, doing some washing and then up West Coast of Scotland because weather looks good.
Met a nice French Family in a rental MH at Backwater Reservoir Sun. night.
He was really enjoying his trip but still non-committal on buying his own MH.

Hi Gary do you mean swanage (near poole) if so we spent last monday and tuesday night wild camping between corfe castle and studland. There was a van monday night but it went about 11ish and i think a hymer tuesday night that i think could not take the weather as it went after midnight.

Even though I'm a member of both clubs and have used sites, sites are the anti-thesis of motor homing for me.

I rigged for wild, LED's, Gaslow, wind-turbine and solar together with 2 X 100 amp-hours but our first session in Scotland whilst lovely and peaceful was disturbing. We got stared-at.

Its taking me a little time to gain some courage for wild, seems the establishment is against us and my partner whinges, preferring the safety of semi-detached-suburbia on-wheels.

I need to learn from you-lot.

The bloke doing the staring was wearing a the kilt and he had something in his hand.

On the beach at kyle-of Tongue.

Richard.

wild camping

Hi, If people stare at you, just wave and smile at them and they will either stop to chat or return your wave or go away embarrased.

Cant say we have noticed an increase in wildcamping, at least not in the North of England/ Scottish borders area. Lots of motorhomes around but rarely see a fellow wildcamper. Come to think of it the few wildcampers that we have shared wildcamp spots with have mostly been foreigners.

Been up to scotland several times, different world up there much better, wish i lived up there my wifes family from up there.Wild camping seems to be getting busy down here, even if it is harder to stop out of the way.

Been delayed but loading van now for 3 days away let you know how I get on.

three days

Hi New Rover

what area you heading for?

weez
Tony

Hi Tony, just got back and seen your post.

We had 1 night near Benderloch, 1 night in Ardtoe, 1 night near Loch Creran and finally 1 night off the A83 near Kilmelford.
Weather was brilliant until about 5am this morning but it was only showers.
Now home and doing some washing etc ready for the next trip out after I cut my grass and tidy up the van again.
Absolutely terrific weather in Scotland the last 2 weeks wouldn't you agree?

I agree with new rover we wild camped for 7 days and the weather on skye malaig etc was absolutely superb i will never ever use a site i will always wild camp its a waste of money. When you turn up at a site it starts off with the basic price then add on the four kids and then the dog then hook up etc it costs a fortune to sit and stare at other vans ie if you wild camp you get the best sites my daughter said to me today she loved the different view every morning from her over cab window .

By the way, over the Easter period (4 days) apart from fuel and gas and all the food and wine that we took with us, we spent less than £10:D:D which includes day time parking
Tight or what:D:D

Don't know how you did it for the money!:D

Wot no change???

Happy Camping:)
