We've just come back from Normandy and Brittany and have had a splendid trip using lots of great locations from the POIs.
After a night at our usual POI at Newhaven we sailed to Dieppe.
Arriving at 10;30pm and finding the promenade parking blocked off for a festival we consulted the POI app and headed off to a lay-by overlooking the sea at LR Pourville-sur-Mer.
Down in the corner of the Cotentin Peninsula we used CR Brevands for a night, and were treated to visits by seals fishing the water edges.
Further up past Utah Beach we used CR la Maison du Garde and OR Morsalines, parking right by the sea.
After a couple of nights in a hotel in Nantes socialising with friends we headed to CR Duer on the east side of the Morhiban Gulf
Onwards to CR Pointe de Roselier near St-Brieuc, followed by our only campsite visit at Binic to do laundry.
Then a lovely secluded car park near the barrage at St-Malo before catching the ferry home.
In all we had two nights in a hotel, two on aires, four with friends, one on a camp site and seventeen on POIs.
The POI app worked like a dream for us, using an iPad with a Three Mobile sim and a 10Gb add on.
So, thanks to all those who contribute POIs and a big thank you to the provider of the app. If anyone is wondering if full membership of WC is worth it, I can tell you that we certainly had our moneys worth this trip.
