I'm feeling reet chuffed with myself

They want a quick clean so they use jet washers that are too powerful and the chemicals they use are too strong. Like you Rob, I wouldn't let them near my MH nor a car that I valued. I once let them loose on a Saab, there was swirl patterns in the paintwork on the rear door where they used the lance too close, never used them again.

Exactly Ral.

They will also peel decals, loosen sealant and also fire a jet of water into any vents or exhaust points fitted to the side of your van.

i think this is where guys and some gals differ..... i have cleaned my van more than ANY car i have ever owned (i generally only clean cars when i sell them but most of them have gone to the scrapyard). having said that i have had it cleaned 3 times in 4 years... so thats enough for me. the bodywork is fibre glass and 25 years old and is faded and clearly shows its age... life is too short to fret about the odd streak..... unless its izzy streaking across Wembley of course - in which case i'd pay a bit more than my £12 van-wash fee for the privilege of watching !!

ROI - for a couple of months. This will be the third year i have done this. i love it. Last year i met cousins i never knew existed !!! We are still in touch, so thats lovely. i returned from there in June last year then went off to France for 2 months. But this year has been a difficult business year, so have not had as much free time. I dont do www while i am away. if anyone wants me they can text and i will ring them. Works for me. I have just had a new 1980's cassette/radio fitted in the van and new speakers... and i am in heaven as i have about 100 new classical cassettes (off freecycle) !!

my kind neighbour volunteered to fibre glass the rear of my van where my reversing skills caused damage and it feels as smooth as silk and looks fab.... i bought a spray paint yesterday for him to finish off.... i wont know myself !!! i have now had a new reversing camera fitted... and i am trying to get used to its wide angle lens... but it will, fingers crossed, help with the reversing....

Get them mirrors fixed or else.:hammer::wave:

bane of my life Trev..... i think i will have to wait till i see you - my drivers one is fine, its the passenger one thats too small and unstable but i'm sure it will get me to ROI and the north....

I've just fitted an aftermarket cruise control kit to my van, and it works a treat......so I'm chuffed to bits.

thank you Trev.... i have been visiting local scrap yards now and again to see if i can find one that might be suitable. Transits have a similar sized wing mirrors but totally different fixing..... sighs..... the glass in my original passenger side mirror that you kindly rebuilt for me, is still intact, but the plastic mirror is in two pieces and i dont know if it could be repaired, but i'm not throwing it away, just in case i have to use it as a last resort - but its one of those jobs that even 4 hands might not be enough to get the angle adjusted and re-positioned accurately.

Do you, or anybody else for that matter, subscribe to the notion that positivity attracts positive results whilst negativity attracts negative results?
I do, that is why I try to stay positive, not always easy but I really do think life is like that. Just a pity we can't bottle it and throw some Harrows way eh!

My reet chuffness today is: I picked 4kg of field mushrooms from the fields adjoining us. Made mushroom and chestnut soup, mushroom and cream cheese soup and will pick some more later to make mushroom & walnut pate'.

Yes i sure do Izzy - whilst i was in my down period this year life seemed to hurl one negativity after another at me, and it was hard to be positive at all, but as soon as i asked for help, not on this forum, things began to sift in my head and i am seeing life through different glasses at last - i now look through those happy-specs which i lost for a few weeks.....

I heard from a local the other day that right outside the local police station (and lots of other areas nearby) an amazing abundance of 'magic mushrooms' has appeared this last month or so.

Apparently there are large off-road areas in the vicinity (car park edges/dividing bed, other council flower beds etc.) mulched with woodchip the last couple of years and these particular fungi are absolutely loving it....!;) :ROFLMAO:

Marie what's a police station?
We're led to believe you only get one if these if you live in a high crime area, otherwise 112 is the answer to your contact with the police.
