So seven and a half thousand miles later after buying the new Hank the Hank motorhome in early summer 2024 I spend all last summer driving right around France thinking "I wish this van had cruise control". This morning I jump in to take the van up to Newton Aycliffe for some minor repairs. I can't remember where the lights are (I don't drive it at night very often) and I turn the wrong stalk. On the dash the word "Cruise" lights up. WTF! I'm thinking perhaps its not fitted as I Can't see any buttons on the wheel to increase or decrease speed. So I get on the motorway and nudge the stalk up and sure enough, it works. Only had it a year and a half! I'm sure I asked the seller if it had Cruise and he said no. Mind you he didn't even know how the sat dish worked.

Delighted though, its a major bonus for me with Arthritis as I can move my right leg around a bit now, hop in the back and get a beer out of the fridge etc.

Our Merc has similar cruise stalk, where the camper has button and +- button control on the steering wheel.

Had an oldish Mercedes many years ago . Only discovered cruise control after almost losing my licence

Back in the days when we had a caravan we were invited into our temporary neighbors' van for a brew

As I walked in I said "That is a brilliant idea" and when asked what I meant I pointed out the space at the end of the dinette which could be used for storing the table.
The guy was flabbergasted and explained he had never spotted it despite owning the van for over a year.

When we returned to our van (which we had owned for over three years) I checked and we had the same!

Wouldn't be surprised if you have a speed limiter along with the cruise control. Very handy in towns.

All I have is a simple beep. I can set it, but it creates a pain in one's testicular area, so I leave it at 30mph.

Ill discover that next year. I find this van is perfect in 3rd gear for 30 limits or 50kph and 2nd for 20 mph or 30kph. I never got one flash last summer although I felt there were less cameras about in France than there used to be.

Absolutely Auto's are a bit thin on the ground at the dealers, to match it wit a spec you need to order new, and be patient, I don't have the money or the time to wait, so I'm a bit stuck with this one.

Picked the van up just now and the "new to me" Cruise control (With no speed limiter) works great. 80 mph back down the A1 all the way
