If it's looks too good to be true........

I feel that eBay could do more than they are doing to stop these scam adverts,
But they seem to put all their efforts into making sure that nobody avoids paying all their fees
Of course they could, but unless this hurts them financially, or does much more damage to their reputation they won’t. There are many vulnerable people out there, and the scammers know they will find their victims using eBay’s platform. Not enough is being done by other organisations including financial institutions to prevent this. Victims feel ashamed, so much so that some never report being scammed. People have been known to commit suicide after being victims. This woman has shown great courage coming forward in this manner, well done to her.

I would never pay for anything until its on the drive and all checks done, plus see there driving lic and address etc, pay by card if you can and you will be covered.

3 out of 5 scams are committed on Facebook marketplace. Another good reason to avoid feckbook.

Lol. I sold my Piaggio on there in a matter of hours. I was wary having read stuff like this. Bloke turned up, nice as ninepence, didn't even bother to look at the paper work and left me a £250 cash deposit. Kept trying to spot the scam but there wasn't one. All went through dead easy.

I’ve sold stuff and bought stuff on both eBay (for many years) and *rsebook (latterly) with no bother.

However, tbf, I have only ever sold and bought locally on FB and exclusively pickup or collection, with cash only paid face to face and never any big ticket items.

Until lunchtime.
He was a lovely gent very plump with a white beard and hair he actually got asked all the time to play the part. I have very fond memories of sitting with him and others in Starbucks when my life was rather difficult it was my safe place. I smile when I say my friend was Father Christmas 🎅🏼
I am glad you will be recovered by lunch Ron ;)

Honestly, I would report dozens of scam sellers when looking for my van, they would be selling Motorhome’s and landrover products mostly but they were so obvious to spot, it’s pretty disappointing that Ebay cann’t introduce some kind of software or maybe charge sellers on EBay motors a fee upfront, there were so many, and I mean DOZENS of fake sellers I stuck to Autotrader in the end.
