During this really cold winter, I drained all the water from the van
(or so I thought) I forgot to drain the flush in the thetford
I discovered this too late, and in the middle of the cold spell
I pressed the flush---nothing happened---
drat, I thought, PUMPS KNACKERED
I'll replace it in the spring
I read up on how to do it on "how to"
and went along to "perthshire caravans" to buy a new pump
A very helpful young woman there asked "have you checked the fuse?"

??????What fuse???????

Am I the only person who didn't know
that a thetford has a fuse
well for any-one else who didn't know it

The thetford cassette has a built in fuse

I replaced the bust fuse for a few pence
when I would have replaced the pump
for more than a few Quid

for those not in the Know , my fuse is located in the locker that houses the cassette itself just in case any one was wondering where to find it.

I must admit last week i filled the onboard tank for the first time having lived off cannisters of water, and using campsites for a shower.

thankfully everything worked and no taps exploded....
