When you pick up the van, get yourself to a nice spot with a great view, preferably overlooking a lake or the sea.

Sit on the step in the morning as you have a coffee and take in the view and you will know you have made the right decision.

I hope you find some peace in your van, take each day as it comes. Just a thought though, have you got somewhere for your post to go to, someone to collect it and keep it safe, or plan to go back and collect it regularly.
