Or is it a spare bedroom as they don't have enough in the house? Seems a good option if you can't afford a bigger house.

This thread reminds me of when our motorhome was 12 months old and i came to re-tax it.

When the renewal came through i noticed it was for the higher <3500kg LGV rate and not the lower and cheaper >3500kg PHGV rate.

Back then we still had DVLA local offices so after getting nowhere on the phone i went up to the the one we used to have in Preston.

Basically and to cut a long story short the dealer " Campbells " had taxed it as 3500kg instead of the 3850kg it actually was.

I bought it new and hadn`t seen that the tax was at the wrong rate, i just knew ( tax disc in window ) that it had been taxed for 12 months as part of the deal.

It took the best part of 6 months to sort it out and in order to be able to keep using it i had to re-tax it at the old higher rate which allegedly i could claim back.

It culminated in me blocking off the entire full DVLA car park with it until a manager came down to sort it.

Meanwhile, a young child ( she looked about 12 ) oops sorry, lady told me i was liable for prosecution for not ensuring the correct information was on the V5C !

The V5C showed the {Y} Revenue weight as 3500 and yet the G Mass in service as 3850 and because i was the registered keeper i was responsible for it.

I hit the fcuking roof which resulted in security being called and then the manager who assured me he could sort it which eventually he did.

I never did get the excess tax back.

Around 10 years ago I saw my NHS computer record for the first time and spotted an extra “R” in my name. Apparently this had been the case since NHS records had been computerised. It had clearly been a data entry error all those years ago whenever the records were added to a central database.

I asked if this could be corrected.

I was informed that it would cause so much paperwork and use up so much of my time to do this that it would not be worth the hassle of amending the number of ”R”s in my name. And my access to the NHS would not be affected if I did nothing and let the error stand. But there would be a risk of loosing access if a move to amend the name was made.

It would actually be much easier to amend my name by depole to match the NHS record!

This is now the world we live in.

My name gets incorrectly entered on systems at least 50% of the time. I've given up worrying about it.

As the late, great Terry Pratchett said, its when to stop spelling with my name.😆

As a "Mac" I have become used to organisations putting "Mc". One famous occasion a young lady told me that Mc was correct and should not be Mac.

Did this young lady work at McDonalds BECAUSE we also say we love a Macy D Both are correct used like this ;)
