Hymer S700

Hymer s 700

posted this here as hav'nt found my way around this site yet but wondered if others would be interested in an alternative tv position as the original high level unit it impractical-- 2016-06-09 16.34.02.jpg2016-06-09 16.34.09.jpg2016-06-09 16.35.04.jpg2016-06-09 16.35.52.jpg2016-06-09 16.35.11.jpg2016-06-09 16.36.14.jpg2016-06-09 16.36.36.jpg

I have uploaded images yet i'm not good with the IT side so hope you can find them ok, basicly the tv slots away in the bar pocket above the heater and has a bracket I made that it sits it inside the storage and also hangs it on the bar lid when open -in the cupboard above are power and dish connections etc and its a nice position for all to sit and watch, also shown is the microwave that fits exactly in the cupboard space without any cutting or alterations whatsoever -the spare door was used at the rear for access and useful if transporting long items.
many thanks

We also have a 1992 S700 Bar version. 419D Transporter. Owned it since November 2006. We have been using it for 6 years full timing. We have found parts at various online outlets such as O'Leary's O'Leary Motorhomes - the UK's No1 source for Motorhome self build, parts and accessories and Leisure Shop Direct Caravan spares | Leisureshopdirect | UK

We have had habitation work done a Peter Hambilton and he has been able to supply parts we needed.

Our passenger seatbelt stork has failed for the second time (Fatigue due to getting caught up when the seat is swivelled). Last time we obtained one from Kimberly Caravans.

Full timing punishes a van and we have had to replace numerous taps and water pumps, Fridge burner jet and heating elements, Front heater and burner for the rear heater. heated and skewing mirror (£350) and spare mirror glass.

Mercedes parts we have been able to get from the Mercedes Truck Dealers. Lack of power can be down to perished vacuum pipes as these control the advance and retard. We have found that genuine Mercedes exhaust parts outlast the after market ones by 3 times.

We needed new wing mirror arms and had to get then custom made at a local metalwork shop, as Hymer could no longer supply.

If you have problems with the !2v voltage drop check and clean the contacts of the shunt behind the fuse box on the drivers side. Small horseshoe this also is no longer obtainable from Hymer. The replacement has the same part number but is massive and won't fit into the space behind the fuse box.

Hi then who do you insure with.?
