have a few cracks, scratches on the rear bumper of my '99 S700.
nothing serious,.... have had a crack in it repaired before locally,
at a very reasonable price.
thought I'd give the old girl a treat & get a new bumper.
wrote to Brownhills asking for a quote, here's their reply.....

We do not have the bumper in stock; it is also out of stock at the Hymer factory. The price is £2666.84.

I wrote back thinking it must be a misprint... surely one too many 6s.

they replied.....I’m sorry but the price is correct.

this bumper is common to most late 90s, early 00s.....
so take care when reversing boys & girls,
Hymer really knows how to give it to you where the sun don't shine.

think I'll be investing in one of these on my next van..

I suddenly have the strong desire to whip mine off, and make a complete new mould for it, before I damage it by backing into the entrance wall like I did with the chausson,. That one was polycarbonate and I welded the bits back together. The Hymer one is GRP I think It would take me an afternoon to make a mould and have it stored in the workshop loft, just in case About £30 in materials ??????????????

Brilliant that you are capable of doing that . I'm sure somebody posted a while back about a place in Essex [?] where they did this kind of work commercially . Supposed to be really reasonable , made and fitted .

Have seen this site on the web offering Hymer parts never used them but someone on here will know

Blimey, you could almost buy a 3D printer for that and make your own!

rear bumper

At that rate I think I'll get these for the corners.

Mind you living in Bradford where they made a complete mould of a patented icecream van anything is possible.

I reversed into a rock in Spain some years back and smashed the Hymer rear bumper on the right corner and also broke the rear light cluster on the right , my Hymer was a B694 G , 52 reg, back in England I had the bumper and light cluster replaced on my Insurance and it cost £1200 total, it was replaced by a two piece bumper with a centre join , which I thought was a great idea as any further mishaps would mean only replacing one half of the bumper , so a replacement need not cost stupid Hymer prices .;)
