Hymer Electric Motor for Step

Hi

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement motor, or get the motor repaired?
It is clicking when the switch is pressed so I know it is getting electric to it.

Current one is bosch? 0130821080 is the number on it

You may be able to find some replacement brushes etc.,but if the armature is faulty it will be cheaper,and speedier, to replace the motor with something similar. No one will see it as it will be hidden,unless you claim from Hymer or Bosch,http://rb-aa.bosch.com/boaa-uk/Category.jsp?ccat_id=116&!

The link supplied was for a replacement step, I did say replacement motor or repair in the same sentence as I am not sure I can buy a new one.
A new motor might also be stupidly expensive.
So I was also asking if somebody knows where I might get mine repaired.

Have you tried pulling it apart? You have nothing to lose. Motors are quite simple and its usually stuck/worn brushes or seized bushes rather than burnt windings that cause them to stop working. However, its first worth jump starting the motor with a 12v battery to confirm its not a wiring fault elsewhere (eg bad earth)

Similar problem with ours but on taking it apart it was the large gear wheel that was stuck and the teeth stripped, the motor was fine. Still not managed to sort it as a bungee strap holds it up fine :wave:
