Hymer alloy wheel torque settings

Same here, I build aircraft mostly without a torque wrench, but always use one on vehicle wheels.
If I have to take vehicle to a tyre depot (as opposed to my friends garage) first thing on getting home is slacken off then torque up the wheel nuts/bolts.

I also do that but i wait a little while until the wheels have cooled down.

After using KwikFit i`ve twice found nuts that only been finger tight so they are my last port of call, if i do use them i check before leaving their premises.

Similarly if i have any work done at a garage i always have a good look round and lift the bonnet before leaving.

The last time was at the main VW dealer in Preston when i had the timing belt, water pump and brake fluid changed.

Obviously the coolant was changed at the same time and upon lifting the bonnet i saw the header tank cap was just sat loosely on top of the engine.

This was after they`d taken it out for a 5 mile test drive ( allegedly ) however the engine was cold to the touch and the temperature gauge hadn`t moved.

I believe you found the answer and posted on motorhomer, anyway I have just now been opening up mu van to let the sun shine and fresh air in, so checked the handbook. The table refers to Fiat but I would assume that is of little relevance as it is all about the alloy. Anyway a second opinion never hurts.

Base vehicle? Stud size? 🤔
Does anyone actually use a torqe wrench to tighten wheel nuts?
Somewhere round about 160Nm?
I always use a torque wrench and insist tyre fitters tighten manually rather than just checking that their air wrench has set more than 100 lbft.
Since doing so I've never had a problem removing wheels. I once snapped a 4" extension on a friend's car!

I`ve seen it before and i`m convinced there`s a typo on the 6th one down ......... Ducato 14 - 20 160 225/75R16 34 71

I think 34 psi is way too low for the front tyres o_O

Got to agree about that - don't think it discredits the torque figures though.
And tyre pressures are presumably for vans - but that's for another half dozen threads 😀😀

I fully agree with the torque figures, 180nm is what i use on mine, it`s just the front tyre inflation pressure on that particular size of wheel / tyre

Most of these charts have some errors in them. And actually .... some of them are deliberate! (it is like Maps and various other documents. Deliberate mistakes and changes are made so if someone copies the info and tried to pass it off as their own, they get caught :) )

I used to keep this chart on the back of my Master for easy reference - and there were a few errors in that as well
