How many of you good people are CCC Members?

Memberships

Hi - yes we are members of the CCC with no problems - the CC always seem to regimental to me (collar and tie brigade) to posh for me.

John (Guernsey Donkey)

I am a member of both mainly because I use them when working in London , Chertsey (C&CC) and Crystal Palace (CC) I prefer the C&CC because I am over 55 and I do find them less regimented. I wild camp a lot of the time but its handy as Chana said in his post elsewhere when it comes to the washing and ironing and its good to have a good water supply and hook up in the winter to help keep warm. The ferry discounts and Insurance savings more than make up for the fees.

I am off full time in about 2 years when my OAP kicks in following in the Belgium gents foodprints , I reckon my private pension such as it is and my OAP should cover me week to week and my savings for emergencies.

Members of the c & cc here to, not been to any sites yet, joined for the cheap insurance,
Hoping to use some of the sites on a trip up and around scotland we have planned for the near future.:)

It depends on your needs but we have found Safeguard a better option for insurance - mainly because they offer 12 months cover (including recovery) in Europe; the Clubs do not and, the last time I looked, were no cheaper for us. Enjoy Scotland - a wonderful country.

Well I have a little confession, I am only a member of the CC.

That said today I did a little exploring on the ccc site, and that is the point !

I have been offered employ in Oxford ..the cc cl sites are too far away from where I need to be ...I wondered if the ccc were more practical.

I looked on their website and a wealth of info.

conversely the CC website seems to require membership before divulging cl sites.

One nil to the caravan and camping club !!! ...and that is from a member of the opposition

We stayed on a CCC site in Devizes this year and low and behold a caravan being towed by a landrover came on site, whats wrong with that you say - nothing at all but the caravan was a wooden 1930s with a potbellied stove and steps up to the main door and cut glass mirrors and guess what, it was the pride and attention of the site and all those with cameras --- nobody said a word against it.

Whereabouts in Oxford?

There used to be a CS/CL at Salters boatyard, off the Abingdon Road, south of the city centre - don't know if it's still there.

Also used to be 2 in Kidlington, north of Oxford. I know at least one is still there because its at my brother-in-laws pub!

The work was in the railway station itself.

I stopped at 2 cl's one in Kidlington and one in a small Village on the Swindon Road ( pub at the side of it seven stars I think.)

The problem is all the Park and rides and Rail car parks appear to have height barriers.

Bus Services wouldnt get me in time for work from Kidlington itself, and I dont fancy cycling on the A420 A43 racetracks.
