How can I put this...

Pardon my ignorance but is the seal part of the box or the throne?
They part of the cassette, I tend to buy a new disc too as that is a wearing part and it wears on the seal, Google your model number (on the door or cassette) plus seal, simple job to do whichever version and they come with instructions if a genuine part, there are also videos on YouTube

My old cassette I might add that got destroyed in the muddy field on the bike is still at the back of room 101 (my garage at home). The tip won't take it and neither will Sellafield Nuclear waste plant. It's probably got a toxic half life of 10000 years. When the last one of us pops out clogs hopefully many years from now it pleases me that one of my younger beneficiaries will have to deal with it. 😎
pop it in the bottom of your wheelie bin.

You can probably add a tiny fan to the Thetford enclosure base. Assuming it is a Thetford C260 (look at the label on the cassette frame under where the cassette lives). Remove the cassette and if you have a 40 x 40 mm square hole, with what looks like a pipe disappearing downwards somewhere then the cassette has a built-in ventilation system. One camper I had, had a small fan in this square hole and when I pressed the flush button once, the fan came on for 2 minutes or so. It sucks the rosey smelling de-oxygenated gas from above the sludge in the cassette and pumps it out underneath the camper.
There are two ways of fitting this yourself:
1) Buy the official Thetford kit from Prima, at an extortionate cost of £140: https://www.primaleisure.com/produc...kyo-D9lWYIs6nU02xgFdUJ5r1DUbazgsaAurTEALw_wcB
2) Buy the fan only from Prima at an extortionate cost of £54.99 https://www.primaleisure.com/produc...FbUk0T4QaioXLcuASONBj5y7IQfDrtzkaAmUqEALw_wcB and connect it to a £10.80 2 minute timer from Amazon,
3) Buy the same fan from Amazon for £10.80 https://www.amazon.co.uk/40x40x20mm...&sprefix=sunon+40+x+40+12v+fan,aps,155&sr=8-6 and a £10 2 minute timer from Amazon, and connect it to the push button on the Thetford Throne

There are thousands of Sunon fans but what you are looking for is a 12v 2.9W 40 x 40 x 15mm fan. The one included in the Thetford kit is Sunon PSD1204PHB1-A. This will give just the right amount of de-whiffing. I had one on my last van, the official kit, and it worked excellently. I'm getting another van and I will install this fan and a 2 minute timer so that when I press the flush button before opening the slider it will fan for 2 minutes. You can get variable timers, if you think you will need longer - or just push the flush button again briefly which will give another two minute blast.

2 minutes, Christ I can be there for an hour !

It will then be discovered as the bin men empty it into the bin waggon and it gets crushed. Once it breaks apart it will leave half of North Yorkshire and south west Durham uninhabitable for a hundred years.
Pop it into one of those big wheelie bins Biffa collect.

The problem with trying to do the job with a fan like the Thetford accessory is that the fan does not run permanently but only when you flush the toilet. The breather vent is open 24-7 so you'll still get stink in the van. You've also got an opening in the van floor so you've upped the chances of draughts which isn't good in the winter.
I've posted the mod I did here https://wildcamping.co.uk/threads/no-stink-cassette-mod.95663/
It works 100% and costs just a couple of quid.

@EarthDemon
Don’t rule out the toilet carcass especially the area above the cassette this is often ribbed and I have see several plastered in years of built up splatter from overfull or even faulty cassettes the design can be truly unhygienic under there and really old toilets can end up with quite a build up.

Only way to clean it effectively is take the thing completely out and blast the Klingons off with a pressure washer.

But NEVER put your pressure washer inside the cassette, especially if you have your mouth open , it was like standing next to a muck spreader :poop:

Simple, empty the cassette 10 minutes before he arrives, and also empty it daily, incidentally my dog loves the smell of £$%^

Tried the cleaning and seal replacing and it didn't do jack (pardon the pun) so I did some research and found out that although folks think a cassette is a sealed unit it isn't. It's sealed when you take it out and trundle it to the disposal point but when you slide it back into the van a cam on the compartment floor opens a vent and the stink is free to exit the cassette into the compartment below. Problem is the cassette compartment doesn't vent to outside and that stink just ends up in the van.
I fixed mine in less than an hour with parts that cost a couple of quid. It makes a massive difference. I've been meaning to get around to posting the details which I'll do tomorrow on a separate post.
Look forward to that thanks

Mine sits for weeks before emptying, the bio tabs do there work, just light brown water comes out and no stink, it takes time for it to break down.
If emptying all the time thr chems/bio wont have worked, thats why it stinks.
Yeah mine sits for weeks cos I don't flush paper and I do have a pot to piss in. So bio washing machine tabs you say? Must try that.
