Traveling from east Anglia via Doncaster where a friend will be following me, would also like to go to Cardigan Bay, then to Merseyside to see friends, then off to the Lake District. A nostalgia trip from the time I lived in Liverpool & often went to the Lakes camping some 45 odd years ago. Looking for some “Free To Stay” locations. Although my friend has a motorhome, I have downsized to a self conversion camper van. Any suggestions will be gratefully received...thanks...

Dunno if you have dogs, but we went a while back and didn't see anywhere on the literature or website that dogs were not allowed. Didn't stay too long as dogs were in car

From memory dogs aren't allowed around the grounds....
Couple of deep laybys on the Maenturog to Porthmadog road....
And make sure you call at Chippy Dre in Tremadog for spicy breadcrumbed fish and chips (best fish and chips I've ever had)

Called them last year, motorhome & dog allowed in car park, & can exercise them there as long as you clear up after them. Not allowed in the village though...

Oh Yeah Car park is fine, but not "inside" that is really outside :)
All the literature now was not available when we went, to be honest we found the whole village a bit "meh" and same old tat for sale in shops etc.

Make sure to check out the locations on the online POI Map...

Portmerian is well worth a visit.
Take your waterproofs.
Plenty of Pois.
Check local pubs, for overnighting.
