Hi are you filtering into the keg after brewing , or are you standing to settle then filtering oh nice brew set up and magic bar because that's where the beer disappears .

Has fermentation stopped yet Chris ?
I`m waiting for a pressure barrel to be delivered, hopefully this weekend. i`ll check the sg, sterilize the barrel and because it`s got a tap ,start bottling .I`ve got so many who want to sample ,i`ve bought another kit ready Geordie Scottish export it had good reviews. Couldn`t resist sampling it myself . Think next time i`ll cut down on the water to make it stronger, just as an experiment.

I was working at a brewery where they had me sample two beers, both came from the same batch but tasted totally different. They split the batch and fermented with different yeasts.

Hi Horace, I thought you were asking Chris the question. I leave the bèer for a week after fermentation on crash cool, drawing off yeast every other day. I can only get down to 3 deg during the summer then filter through a 100 micron then 30 and eventually 5 . After that I pass it through a membrane introducing a low level of co2 which helps keep the beer a little bit longer and gives a clear beer. The only clearing agent i use is 3 gram of copper fining to 100 ltr at the last 10 minutes of boil. I dont use isinglass!

That`s a good point ,i might filter it before bottling it. (y)

Well the the pressure barrel was delivered, i syphoned the stout into the barrel and found it was weeping at the bottom. I`ll give the supplier his due , i sent him a message at 6.45pm he got back to me straight away ,with a new ones in the post. In the meantime the leaking barrel is in a binbag. I`ve just done another kit it`s 40pints of scottish export. 😋 🤤

Just sampled a small amount of the scottish export, very nice can`t wait. Think i`ll keep that on the go all the time ,because it`ll be gone for christmas. :ROFLMAO:Had a pint of the stout last night and slept like a log ,full 8 hours.
