Six to ten hours depending on the size of the pig.

Done the pit roast before, Lenny! Just not with a whole pig! Dug the pit lit big fire in it the night before and covered it in rocks. When we got up, we put the whole leg of Gloucester Old Spot, with seasoning and herbs, wrapped in foil, on top of the rocks and filled the pit in! We all then went out for the day. Wonderful taste for tea. It fed 14 of us!! JIM
